Students start Black and Gold Fridays to increase school spirit

Coed fraternity recognized as student organization
It took freshman William Scot "Grecco" Bray until the end of his first day at DePauw to realize the University's definition of greek life didn't match with his expectations.

U.S. assistant secretary of state on campus
Thomas Shannon, assistant secretary of state for western hemisphere affairs for the U.S. Department of State, spoke of the importance of democracy in Latin America at the Peeler Art Center on Oct. 7.

Reconnecting pipes to save money, energy
Pipes are being rerouted between Harrison Hall and Roy O. West library. After the construction, the new pipes being used will be better insulated, so they will conserve energy.

DePauw sports fields are on the incline - literally.
"There is a seven foot incline, a swampy area, weed patches, holes and the grass is too long for the sport," said field hockey player Lizzy Funk.
Funk, a sophomore, plays forward for the team. She said the condition of the field makes it hard for her team to practice, and causes players from other teams to comment on the poor condition of DePauw's field.…
