The new Old Gold weekend


This weekend marks the 100th anniversary of the Old Gold homecoming tradition at DePauw. Like many aspects of DePauw tradition and culture, however, Old Gold weekend has not been spared from the changes that occured over the course of a century. Public art bike parade commences ArtsFest 2007: Art and the Environment


ArtsFest 2007: Art and the Environment kicked off Thursday with a parade featuring 75 decorated bicycles. The event was followed by a cookout and served as the culmination of a public art initiative called Re*Cycling Art. Community center, smoking ban debated at candidates' forum


A proposed community center, the state of economic development, and a recently implemented citywide smoking ban proved to be some of the most contentious issues discussed at Wednesday's candidates' forum. Alternative Fall Break trip cancelled


Each year, an Alternative Break trip has been offered to students during fall and spring breaks. This year, a trip to New Orleans was planned to aid in Hurricane Katrina relief, but was cancelled due to a lack of student interest. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels presented a lecture entitled "You Can't Always Get What You Want" on Wednesday. Green Center officially dedicated


Due to a large donation by DePauw alumni Judson C. Green Jr. '74 and Joyce Taglauer Green '75, the newly constructed Green Center for the Performing Arts hosted its dedication ceremony Thursday night. Freshman GPA decrease largest in 5 years


The GPA for the class of 2010 decreased from the fall to spring semesters last year, representing the largest drop in five years, and the second largest in eight years. Neal Abraham, vice president for academic affairs, said last year was an unusual year.… Post the First Comment
