Beta files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
House renovations done nearly a decade ago led DePauw's Beta Theta Pi fraternity chapter to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy on Aug. 18.

Students react to professor Stanley Irwin's death
When School of Music professor Stanley R. Irwin passed away May 31 following a car accident in Greenwood, Ind., he left behind more than an office in the Green Center for the Performing Arts and a position in DePauw's faculty.

JC becomes InterVarsityChristian group hopes to gain sharper focus with new name
Organized Christian worship has been prevalent on campus since the 1960s, most recently called the JC Christian Fellowship. After at least seven years under the title JC, leaders of the fellowship decided to rename the group InterVarsity this year.

Party in the Park displays local talent
This summer was a busy one for many DePauw students, and the student musicians in TGL and rapper Matt Rivera, who goes by the stage name Matt Rebel, were no exception. Both acts spent much of their summers touring and performing. College presidents seek debate about lower drinking age
College presidents from about 100 of the nation's best-known universities are calling on lawmakers to consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18, saying current laws actually encourage dangerous binge drinking on campus.

Institute pre-orientation suspended; programs still host specific sessions
