Public Safety report shows alcohol violation increase
The Office of Public Safety released its annual report on campus crime statistics Thursday, with the numbers showing an overall increase in the number of alcohol-related incidents from calendar year 2006 to 2007.
Public Safety Director Angie Nally said some categorization changes in Thursday's report make year-to-year comparisons less straightforward, especially in the burglary statistics, but aggregating the alcohol numbers shows a steady increase in incidents over the last three years.…

Humanitarian, author Mortenson selected to give next Ubben Lecture

Peace Camp promotes activism, discussion
While the cold and rainy weather may not be ideal for camping, a few students have been sleeping outside in tents in order to be available for discussion with their fellow students.

Martone discusses Indiana roots
During her introduction of Hoosier author Michael Martone, English professor Emily Doak said, "He gets at the ephemeral notion of being human."
Doak also said that Martone "bombs traditional forms" of literature and "explodes our notions" of Indiana. Although Martone has lived outside of Indiana longer than he actually lived here, he constantly references the Crossroads of America in his work.…
