Sunday's Student Congress meeting started with a vote on the Student Senate proposal, approving the new legislative body with more than a two-thirds majority. With classes, homework and extracurricular activities, many DePauw students can occasionally get overwhelmed by everything on their plates. According to President Brian Casey, students aren't the only ones with a "sense of overload." On the six-item list of intellectual life issues Casey has outlined for University discussion, point number one addresses faculty time and commitment, specifically asking about the benefits and drawbacks of reducing the number of courses professors teach each year.… 1 Comment

DePauw is among the nation's top Fulbright-producing schools, sending three students abroad to study and teach for each of the past two years. According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, DePauw ranked in the top 50 bachelor's institutions both of those years.… Post the First Comment

There's one major perk to having Monon hosted by Wabash: less people were arrested during this year's Monon weekend than last year. In 2007, four nonstudents and one student were arrested on DePauw's campus, and this year two nonstudents and one student were arrested here - no DePauw students or guests were arrested at Wabash College.… Post the First Comment
