Felix, a young Filipino man, works as a general laborer on construction jobs around Lapu-Lapu City, currently on a project for Island Ventures Inc. Felix makes no more than four American dollars a day, barely enough to feed his three children and himself. Once upon a time, President Brian Casey asked mentors and RAs if we, as a campus community, would give up lunch. I had hoped that this meant that I soon wouldn't be the only one sitting in The Den working on homework during the afternoons and that soon I'd see members of different greek houses and students of varying ages joining me in my new favorite study spot.… Post the First Comment

During Winter Term, a time that is meant to allow students to focus their intellectual energy outside of the classroom, the DePauw community responded to a natural disaster that struck the nation of Haiti. President Brian Casey declared DePauw's official support to the Haitian victims through both a campus-wide email and a link on the DePauw homepage that discusses ways to assist the Haitian cause; go check it out.… Post the First Comment

The tuition bill - an unfortunate reminder that the class you skipped this morning cost about the same as the video game console you were playing instead.
