Freshman Katia Satterfield agreed that the point of Energy Wars is to increase the awareness of the typical DePauw student.

"We want to make the campus more aware," Satterfield explained. "We want to make the students take things home and start changing the country."

The Environmental Club is also pushing for further changes from dining services.

"I wish they would bring back reusable cups," Satterfield said. "The paper cups aren't recyclable."

Satterfield also explained what is and isn't currently recycable in the Hub. Plastics labeled with a one, two or six inside a recycling symbol are recyclable in any of the blue bins on campus. However, Satterfield explained that if a bottle is to be recycled, the cap must be taken off and thrown away.

The Environmental Club, while still promoting more environmentally friendly changes on campus, is encouraged by the changes that have already been made.

"I was thrilled when I heard about the composting bins," Wright said. "It made my year."
