Cheers, Jeers, and Tears
Issue date: 5/5/09 Section: Editorial
• Cheers to a main campus area not crowded by orange cones and hard hats for the first time in years. While we like new and renovated buildings, we also like not being woken up to the sound of a jackhammer or concrete truck backing up.
• Cheers to Energy Wars including the greek houses. We now look forward to even more participation next year and potentially greek houses competing against dorms.
• Jeers to DePauw students for stealing silverware and dishes from the Hub and The Den.
• Tears to the under-used Prindle Institute for Ethics. What else could Janet Prindle's money be use for right now?
• CHEERS to the creation of the transit system in Greencastle. While most students do have a car, it makes it easier for students without one to get around town and helps the environment.
• CHEERS to the high enrollment of the incoming freshman class, especially during strenuous economic times.
• TEARS to graduating seniors trying to find employment in this economy. What did they do to deserve to graduate in a mini-Great Depression?
