The morning started with three DePauw athletic teams playing in their respective regional championships, but by the afternoon all three teams had fallen and ended their seasons.

SOFTBALL
To open the day, the softball team defeated Ohio Northern University 4-0 to force a second game to decide the regional champion. Sophomore second baseman Emma Minx led the team with three hits and scoring two runs. Sophomore shortstop Brianne Week recorded two RBI. Junior pitcher Megan Soultz allowed only one hit in the seven inning shutout.

In game two the Tigers fell behind in the third inning when Ohio Northern freshman second baseman Jackie Mangola hit a grand slam to give the Polar Bears a 4-0 lead. In the bottom half of the inning the Tigers responded with a run scored by freshman rightfielder Rachel MacBeth. After MacBeth doubled and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by senior catcher Rachel Gill, a sacrifice fly to leftfield plated MacBeth.

The Tigers would not pose a threat again until the bottom of the seventh. Gill singled to lead off the inning and sophomore first baseman Ashlee Anton singled to right field with one out. Ohio Northern junior Cortney Cash responded by striking out the next two Tigers and securing an Ohio Northern victory.

With the loss the Tigers end the season with a 32-9 record. Ohio Northern moves to 39-4 on the season and advances to the Div. III Softball Championship quarterfinals in Montclair, N.J. next weekend.

MEN'S TENNIS
After a 5-2 victory over No. 3 seed Grinnell College on Saturday the Tigers were set to face defending national champion and host University of Washington - St. Louis. The No.1 seed Bears swept the Tigers in doubles and victories in No. 1 and No. 5 singles clinched the 5-0 victory.

The loss for the Tigers ends the season with a 22-4 record and the end of head coach Tom Cath's career with the Tigers. Wash U moves on to the national quarterfinals of the Div. III Men's Tennis Championship in Claremont, Calif. with a 21-2 record.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
With a victory over the University of Washington - St. Louis in a match that lasted over four hours on Saturday, the Tigers headed back out to Blackstock Courts for the regional championship match on Sunday against No. 1 seed and No. 4 nationally ranked University of Chicago.

The Maroons of Chicago proved to be too much for the Tigers to overcome and defeated the Tigers 5-0.

The Tigers end the season with a 17-9 record while the Maroons move to 16-4 on the season and advance to the national quarterfinals of the Div. III Women's Tennis Championship in Lawrenceville, Ga.
